hms is open source under the Apache License 2.0. It is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, as that licence says. The name hms and Bruket's official builds are covered by a short trademark notice.
hms runs Claude Code or Codex with the sign-in you already use for them. Your use of those tools stays under your provider's terms, and your provider bills you directly. hms has no account, key or usage of its own.
"If they download it while it's free, they get it for life for free and all coming updates." There is no account, key or activation for this. Before any charging starts, a cutoff date will be announced here.
